Welcome to Innovations Academy!

I am honored to be a part of the team that is opening Folsom-Cordova's first virtual school.  I have been involved in education since 2001, teaching elementary students in the traditional setting, then supporting kindergarten-eighth grade students in the virtual setting.  I spent three of my virtual school years as a middle school principal.  Since joining the Folsom Cordova family in 2017, it has been a dream of mine to open a virtual school and expand the educational options for our community, while still upholding the high level of educational experience that Folsom Cordova schools provide.  As we build our school, it is important to me that our families, students, and staff have a voice and contribute to the growth and design of our program.  

I grew up in the Bay Area, spending most of my high school time working in a preschool.  I received my undergraduate degree from California State University, Hayward, and a master's degree from Mills College in Oakland, California.  My family moved to the Sacramento area in 2012. My husband and I have three children that also attend Folsom-Cordova schools.  As a family, we enjoy camping and spending our free time with friends and family.  My favorite activity, however, is watching my children on the rugby and football field, cheer stage, and sprinting around the track.
